Biographical

Scott C. Hart is a certified mediator and arbitrator and has extensive experience in creating win-win agreements among parties in disputes, both pre-court and during litigation.  Scott has been practicing law in North Carolina since 1992, and has handled cases in state and federal court throughout the state.  He is a certified arbitrator and has been a mediator since 2005.  He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the Eastern North Carolina Inn of Court.  He is past president of the Craven County Bar Association.  Scott is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected for North Carolina Super Lawyers each year since 2010.

Rates Information

Effective October 1, 2024:

Administrative Fee: $125/party; Travel Fee: $250/hr. (split evenly among parties)

Mediation Fees:

  • $200/hr. per party (up to 3 parties), 1/2 day minimum 
  • $175/hr. per party (4-5 parties), 1/2 day minimum
  • $150/hr. per pary (6+ parties), 1/2 day minimum

Cancellation Fees:

  • $0 for more than 14 days prior to scheduled mediation date
  • $750 for 8-14 days prior to scheduled mediation date
  • $1,250 for 0-7 days prior to scheduled mediation date
